Corporate Overview

Our Technology

Saiplas Corporation has been a leading innovator in plastic compounding and manufacturing for more than fifteen years, pioneering the use of crosslinked and related molecular compatibilization technology. We provide high-performance engineering materials for electrical, utility, automotive, telecommunications, and computer markets worldwide.

What is E-beam crosslinking?

E-beam crosslinking technology uses irradiation to link together groups of polymers, which are long, chain-like molecules containing a repetitive pattern of atoms. The radiation causes binding to occur at multiple sites along the polymer chains.

The result of crosslinking is greater tensile and impact strength, increased durability and resistance to deformation, superior solvent and chemical resistance, and greater resistance to abrasion and stress fractures.

Unike chemical crosslinking, E-beam crosslinking does not require additives, nor does it generate hazardous by-products. E-beam crosslinking also has the advantages of being energy-efficient and cost-efficient, ensuring high throughputs due to the short exposure times required.

Our Company Philosophy

Since its establishment in 1989, our company has invested substantially in technical research and development while simultaneously perfecting our production processes. We anticipate our customers?¡¥ requirements and provide advanced technological solutions. Our commitment to excel in the international arena is demonstrated by the range of support and trouble-shooting services that we offer. As an ISO 9001 certified company, Saiplas continuously strives to provide products of the highest quality for our customers.

Our Founder

Dr. James Tsai

Dr. Tsai is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Saiplas board of directors. He began his career as a senior researcher at Exxon/Mobil, then went on to Raychem and GE Plastics. After President Nixon opened China to the western world, Dr. Tsai was nominated as a United Nations consultant to China by the American Chemical Society. As one of the first consultants dispatched to share technology with the growing population of Chinese scientists, he played a pioneering role in developing that country?¡¥s engineering plastics industry.

Dr. Tsai founded Saiplas Corporation in 1989 to develop high-performance compounds for customers in Europe and Asia. He has developed numerous new polymer plastics materials for Exxon/Mobil, Raychem, and GE Plastics, and is the holder of fourteen patents.
